Fortifying Christian Women Against Overwhelm

Hi, I’m Ashley Grice

As Oklahoma’s only Overwhelm Solutionist I help you pinpoint the causes and contributing factors to your overwhelm and address them at the root. While some things may need to be eliminated altogether, some factors just need to be managed differently so life can balance out. I’m here to fortify you to participate fully in life without feeling like you’re being drowned by it!

Women carry a lot of things. And all of us face overwhelm at some point. It seems to be a part of life. For some it is only seasonal, for others it’s ongoing. The good news is shame and overwhelm do NOT have to be your constant companions!

Because of my own dealings with perpetual overwhelm (see more on the about page) I have rejected these companions and gained a balance that allows me to thrive daily!

Now it’s your turn.

Why Fortify?

Fortify (verb): To make strong and secure, to support and protect against attack, to increase nutritional value, to strengthen someone mentally or physically.

We all need to be fortified in different ways in different seasons. Whether you’re feeling threadbare and need some “shoring up” or you just want something extra to keep you strong and healthy, Threadbare To Thriving has something to fortify you.  More than simply “talk therapy” (which has it’s place, don’t get me wrong), here you’ll gain practical, actionable steps to ease your day-to-day functions. We also address the underlying beliefs that subtly impact your daily decisions and habits.

So, you’ll get fortified in FUNCTION and fortified with the TRUTH as God defines it.

How you might feel now…

  • Defeated

  • Overloaded

  • Stressed

  • Dreading the day/task

  • Failing to stay on top of things

  • Drowning in to-do’s

How you can be feeling…

  • Energized

  • Capable & equipped

  • Calm and peaceful

  • Able to tackle the day’s tasks

  • Accomplished & successful

  • Unstoppable!

Imagine waking up feeling equipped to tackle the day. Imagine ending the day feeling successful and even having energy leftover. Imagine being fortified to “roll with the punches,” meet the needs around you, and still end up with a little extra time for yourself. It is possible!

Are you a woman who spends most of her time supporting/carrying others? It’s time someone carried you! Taking time to invest in yourself is NOT selfish when done in the right balance… it’s necessary for you to thrive FOR them.

Life is not ALL about you. But you are a meaningful part of the equation and deserve some attention too!

So grab some individually tailored time to get fortified and give the best of yourself to those around you. Customize your experience with the package and services that best meet your goals. (Check out the Services tab for more info.)

How Overwhelm Works

Types of Overwhelm

1. External Factors

Some overwhelm is brought on by natural circumstances or other people and has elements that are out of our control. (i.e. having a baby, caring for aging parents, a natural disaster, dealing with the estate of a lost loved one, etc.) The good news is there is always something you CAN control to impact how that overwhelm affects you. And you will get through it.

The question is: will you come through it by the skin of your teeth, feeling like you were just hit by a truck and need a vacation for a year? Or will you come through it with peace and grace, feeling like an overcomer who is still thriving and able to move forward.

That’s the difference being properly fortified can make.

2. Self Created

Some overwhelm is brought on by self with most, if not all, elements being within your control. (i.e. you take on extra projects/tasks because you don’t want to let them down, you want to give your kids ALL the experiences, you struggle to say “no,” etc.) The good news is, there’s a way to fully participate in life without running on fumes.

The question is: will you stay in the cycle of overwhelm because the world says you can do it all, while inside you face imposter syndrome and feel like you’re about to crumble? Or will you have the confidence to say “yes” to the right things, experience a balanced schedule with room to breathe, love your daily life and model healthy routines for others?

That’s the difference being properly fortified can make.

Home Organizing

A Starting Point

Many women feel their overwhelm is directly related to the amount of “things” they have around them. If your spaces are cluttered or overrun this can definitely affect your peace, mental clarity, and daily functions. We are called to be good stewards of the things entrusted to us, but to be perfectly honest, many women weren’t actually taught how to clean or organize and it can quickly feel out of control (especially if you have others contributing to the piles as well!).

I’ve had clients tell me they can’t focus on coaching yet but need help to calm the visual stimulation so they can think straight and feel somewhat normal for a minute. That’s where I come in. I can tackle whatever room is troubling you and bring order and functionality. Once you have some breathing room, coaching can be an easy next step to address even more overwhelm. Or maybe a little bit of taming the chaos is all you need. Whichever it is, I’m here for you.
